Martin A. Urban graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, Suma Cum Laude, from Illinois Benedictine College in Lisle, Il. He attended Medical School at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, graduating in 1983. Dr. Urban then performed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was Chief Resident 1986-1987. He performed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology, Computed Tomography, and Ultrasound at Northwestern Memorial, where he gained valuable experience with a full range of vascular procedures including angioplasty, pulmonary angiography and venography, as well as non-vascular procedures including percutanious biliary and urologic drainage and abscess management.
Dr. Urban is on staff at Freeport Memorial Hospital, Rochelle Community, Harvard Hospital, Mercy Hospital and Mercy Woodstock Clinic. He has also been performing kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty procedures as well as venous port placements and extensive exposure to CT angio procedures.
Michael grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan in 1998. He moved to the Chicago area and worked in the medical device industry as a Microbiologist while earning his Master of Science degree at Roosevelt University in 2006. He subsequently attended Medical School at the Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2010. Michael completed a preliminary Medicine internship at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois followed by a Radiology residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He then completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Robert Pierce received his Bachelor of Sciences degree in 1960 from the University of Idaho. He then completed medical school at the University of Chicago, graduating in 1964. Dr. Pierce completed his Internship at U.S.P.H.S. Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts from 1964-1965. He then performed his Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Chicago from 1965-1967. He also completed Residency at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland from 1967-1969.
Dr. Pierce was the President of the Medical Staff for St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford, Illinois in 1984. He was then Chief of Staff of St. Anthony’s from 1985-1988. Dr. Pierce has been a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners in 1965, a Diplomat of the American Board of Radiology in 1969, legislative Editor of the Northern IL Medical Journal from 1971-1973, a clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Rockford School of Medicine from 1971-present, and a Diplomat of the American Board of Nuclear Medicine in 1975. Dr. Pierce has been published in various journals and co-wrote a book on the Anatomy of the Newborn Skull.
Alan S. Wagner obtained his Bachelor of Sciences degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1989 from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He then completed Medical School, also at University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and received the Tau Beta Pi Scholarship and Joseph Henderson Scholarship. He developed prototype surface coils for MR angiography and was responsible for design, construction and testing of the coils. Dr. Wagner then completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Penn State Geisinger in Danville, PA where he was Chief Resident from 1997-1998. He performed his fellowship training in Body Imaging also at Penn State Geisinger.
Following his fellowship training, Dr. Wagner joined the Berwick Hospital in Berwick, PA as a Radiologist, performing interpretation for all imaging modalities, including nuclear medicine. He later joined Summit Radiology providing diagnostic interpretation for all aspects of diagnostic imaging including radiography, nuclear medicine, angiography and interventional radiology.
Scott White received his Bachelor of Arts from University of Virginia in 1984, and graduated from medical school in 1988, receiving his M.D. degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine/Rockford. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Mineola University Hospital, Mineola, NY in 1993, and then completed a fellowship in Uroradiology at University of California, San Francisco, in 1994. Between 1994 and 2006, he was a private practice radiologist with Camelot Radiology, working at OSF St. Anthony’s Medical Center, where he served as President of the Medical Staff from 2004-2006. In 2006 he joined the Emergency Radiology section at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA, also becoming a member of their Night Watch teleradiology service. Dr. White holds faculty appointments at Harvard Medical School, and University of Illinois College of Medicine/Rockford. He has authored several scientific papers and book chapters. In 2009, he established Rescuerad, LLC., a radiology/teleradiology service corporation, of which he is the sole member. Through Rescuerad, Dr. White has provided radiology services to Camelot Radiology, Rockford Radiology Associates, facilities in MA and RI, and several Veterans Administration hospitals throughout the Midwest. Dr. White continues to work part time at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and commutes between Boston and Northern Illinois.
Steven Bach was born and raised in Rockford, Il where his family still resides. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Northern Illinois University. He then completed medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2006. Dr. Bach completed his internship at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan. He then completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Michigan State University/Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan from 2007-2011. Dr. Bach went on to complete a Body Imaging Fellowship from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan from 2011-2012 with a focus on cross sectional intervention, body MR, ultrasound, CT, cardiovascular imaging, PET CT, and breast imaging. Following completion of fellowship training, Dr. Bach returned to his home town and joined Camelot Radiology in 2012.
Rebecca Stemm, CMCO
Rebecca joins us with over 25 years in radiology administrative services. She has extensive experience in radiology management, credentialing, billing and accounting. Rebecca is the liaison between the center and our staff radiologists. She also oversees Summit Radiology’s functions and departments.
Shawn Taylor RT (R) (MR)
Shawn is our primary MRI technologists. She has a broad base of experience in hospital settings and free standing facility centers. Patients are continually commenting on their premium care from Shawn during their MRI scan. Her expertise includes all areas of MRI, MRA, plus general radiography. Shawn is a registered MRI technologist which is a requirement for ACR MRI accreditation.
Jane Pettersen RT (R) (CT)
Jane oversees our CT and X-Ray Department. She has a diverse radiology background with many years’ experience performing CT and diagnostic X-Ray procedures. Jane has worked in hospital settings, free standing medical facilities and as a traveling CT/X-Ray technologist. She is a registered CT Technologist which is a requirement for ACR CT accreditation. Jane connects well with patients and serves each person with compassion, integrity and empathy.
Deb Dill RT (R)
Deb is new to our team, she graduated from Rockford Memorial Hospital School of Radiography. Along with performing routine X-ray exams she assists with scheduling patients and other office duties. Prior to joining Summit, she worked as a mobile X-ray/Lab Technologist. Deb prides herself on compassionate patient care.
Kimberly Schupp, RVS, RDMS(AB)
Kimberly manages our Ultrasound department. She is a graduate of the Technical School of Medicine, and is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. She is an active member of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Kimberly provides quality diagnostic medical images with a kind, personal touch . Prior to joining Summit, she worked as a mobile technologist throughout Northern Illinois.
Nancy is our Marketing Manager and spends most of her day bringing Summit’s message of quick, high-quality MRI, CT, XR and Ultrasound services to referring physician’s and the public. She oversees all aspects of advertising and community programs, keeping our IMAGE of QUALITY SERVICE alive.
Jenny is an integral part of our team. She spends most of her time keeping our billing up-to-date and is able to answer detailed questions regarding your bill and how it processes. She works meticulously paying close attention to every detail as she codes and processes your procedure making sure all insurances pay accordingly. Jenny also performs an active role in “ALL” office duties including managing/training front office, scheduling and patient coordination.
FRONT DESK COORDINATOR/INSURANCE SPECIALISTS
Julie is our friendly front desk coordinator. Our patients are greeted with a smile as soon as they walk in the door. Julie keeps Summit running smoothly as she effortlessly coordinates all the front desk procedures. From scheduling patients, checking insurances, to getting patients previous exams for our radiologists to compare, Julie handles it all. Referring offices know her by name and appreciate her helpfulness and professionalism.
Erica is the newest member of our team. She joins Summit as the demand for scheduling grew. Erica brings two years of experience working insurance claims. She works diligently on coordinating patient charts, scheduling and calling on patient’s insurance eligibility, benefits & authorizations. This way, our patients are aware ahead of time on how their insurance will process.
HEALTHCARE COMPLIANCE SPECIALISTS
Stephanie has spent the majority of her career in the healthcare industry. She has experience in virtually all aspects of healthcare including, practice management, revenue cycle management and healthcare compliance. She has extensive experience in managed care contract analysis and negotiation. Stephanie understands the importance of continuous process improvement and is constantly seeking ways to provide meaningful guidance to the practice.
IT PROJECTS COORDINATOR / PACS ADMINISTRATOR
Jesse is a liaison between Camelot Radiology and Summit Radiology since 2014. Jesse manages day to day support involving all areas of technology. He handles all installations of new hardware, software, servers, etc. Jesse is responsible for the day to day PACS operations including image workflow, archiving, auto-routing, prefetching, and other related activities. Works closely with imaging to ensure timely and complete capture of DICOM image data into the PACS as well as network transmission, RIS validation, exception handling. Jesse works closely with Radiologists and outside facilities to identify future needs and to design efficient workflow processes.
