Technologists – Our Technologists are educated, trained and certified in their respective modalities. They are compassionate and knowledgeable individuals who are willing to make your experience at Summit the very best.

Physicians – Our Radiologists are fellowship-trained, board and MQSA certified physicians who are experts in their field. They provide accurate and detailed reports within 24 hours or less.


Dr. Urban graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, from Illinois Benedictine College in Lisle, Illinois. He attended medical school at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, graduating in 1983. Dr. Urban then performed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was Chief Resident 1986- 1987. He performed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology, Computed Tomography, and Ultrasound at Northwestern Memorial, where he gained valuable experience with a full range of vascular procedures including angioplasty, pulmonary angiography and venography, as well as non-vascular procedures such as percutaneous biliary and urologic drainage and abscess management. Dr. Urban also performs minimally invasive treatment for peripheral venous disease at the Freeport Memorial Hospital Vein Clinic. Dr. Urban is on staff at Freeport Memorial Hospital and Rochelle Community Hospital.



Dr. McConnell grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan in 1998. He moved to the Chicago area and worked in the medical device industry as a Microbiologist while earning his Master of Science degree at Roosevelt University in 2006. He subsequently attended Medical School at the Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2010. Dr. McConnell completed a preliminary medicine internship at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois followed by a Radiology residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He then completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Most recently Dr. McConnell has completed training in platelet rich plasma injections and adult regenerative cell therapy.



Dr. Pierce received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1960 from the University of Idaho. He then completed medical school at the University of Chicago, graduating in 1964. Dr. Pierce completed his Internship at U.S.P.H.S. Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts from 1964-1965. He then performed his Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Chicago from 1965-1967. He also completed Residency at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland from 1967-1969. Dr. Pierce was the President of the Medical Staff for St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford, Illinois in 1984. He was then Chief of Staff of St. Anthony’s from 1985-1988. Dr. Pierce has been a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners in 1965, a Diplomat of the American Board of Radiology in 1969, legislative Editor of the Northern IL Medical Journal from 1971-1973, a clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Rockford School of Medicine from 1971-present, and a Diplomat of the American Board of Nuclear Medicine in 1975. Dr. Pierce has been published in various journals and co-wrote a book on the Anatomy of the Newborn Skull.



Dr. Bach was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois where he and his family still reside. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, from Northern Illinois University. He then completed medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2006. Dr. Bach completed his internship at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan. He then completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Michigan State University/Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan from 2007-2011. Dr. Bach went on to complete a Body Imaging Fellowship from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan from 2011-2012 with a focus on cross sectional intervention, body MR, ultrasound, CT, cardiovascular imaging, PET CT, and breast imaging. Following completion of fellowship training, Dr. Bach returned to his home town and joined Camelot Radiology in 2012.



Dr. Cardone received his medical degree from the University of Turin in Turin, Italy with a residency in general surgery and diagnostic radiology. Receiving Fellowship training in US, CT, MRI and Color Doppler, Dr. Cardone is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology and the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. Dr. Cardone has specialized radiology skills in the following: 

  • Interventional Radiology
  • Stereotactic Breast Biopsy
  • Coronary CTA/ other CT Angiography

Dr. Cardone is also a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of varicose vein disease/venous insufficiency, including Sclerotherapy, Microphlebectomy, and Laser/Radiofrequency Ablation. Also having experience in Facial Enhancement and Facial Anti-Aging Treatments, he can perform Botox and Dysport administration and the injection of intradermal fillers.




Tracey is our primary MRI technologist. She has 20+ years of experience in hospital settings and free-standing centers. Patients are continually commenting on the premium care that is provided by Tracey. Her expertise includes all areas of MRI, MRA, plus general radiography and mammography. Tracey is a registered MRI technologist which is a requirement for ACR MRI accreditation.



Paula is a registered CT and X-ray technologist. She started her career in 2002 at Rockford Memorial Hospital School of Radiography. She graduated in 2004 and was the first hire out of her class. She has 15 years of experience working in a hospital setting as an X-ray, CT and MRI technologist.



Marilyn has over 20 years of experience in all areas of MRI, growing her expertise in many ways throughout that time. Marilyn is also a registered MRI technologist which is a requirement for ACR MRI accreditation.
